Clinical Educator/Assistant Manager
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying individual staff developmental needs and mentoring, coaching, and retraining staff to exceed departmental performance expectations in all clinical areas (ICU, CVICU, NICU, PICU, Bronchoscopies, and ABGs) on all shifts. Duties include identifying the departments educational needs and goals; coordinating and prioritizing a department education calendar to ensure that the safest and highest quality of patient care is being delivered in a timely fashion; providing CEUs; and ensuring 100% compliance with annual competencies, new policies/procedures/protocols competencies, and new equipment/ventilator modes by coordinating vendor in-services, performing in-services, and providing hands on demonstrations for staff. You will also work with Respiratory Services Site Manager and other health are providers to develop, implement, and provide efficient patient/respiratory care services and outcomes, while also identifying and recommending best practice models. Other duties include assisting in meeting short and long term financial goals by continually planning, developing, monitoring, adjusting, and evaluating annual budgets; identifying opportunities to reduce costs, while maintaining quality of services; and supervising staff, ensuring all are fully competent in providing the highest quality of care to members. You will also ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications include:
- Previous experience in respiratory care, in a multi-faceted health care system, multi-service provider setting, or academic setting (usually two years)
- A bachelors degree in respiratory care, health care administration, nursing, business administration, or equivalent experience preferred
- A current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license
- A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- Knowledge of budgeting, staffing, systems, quality improvement, and clinical care delivery in an inpatient setting
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
- The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
